East London rapper Kojey Radical has shared the poignant hour-long visuals for his moving single ‘Proud Of You’, Puza Snigdha reports.
‘Proud Of You’ is a thoughtful piece which encourages self-care at a time when we all need it the most. The piece, which was released last month, is also a collaboration with Rizzle Kicks‘ Jordan Stephens and the global mental health movement he founded, #IAMWHOLE.
Here’s what you need to know:
- “Proud Of You” tries to create a positive vibe in the audience’s mind with gives a raw and intimate sound, with the accompanying visuals which is an emotive film featuring over 100 submissions of people expressing their feelings through their creative passions.
- Speaking on the campaign, Kojey said: “Finding pride in your darkest days is a task that can seem impossible sometimes. Especially without the time to reflect. I always seem to forget to reflect and really consider how far I’ve come since I started. The pace of life never gave me the opportunity to.”
- He added: “I wanted to do something special to celebrate! There are hundreds of thousands of unsung heroes going above and beyond during this hard time. I called my bandmate Mike to make this piano part that will allow you to take the song and get creative.”
