BBC Start to Announce Line-Up for 'Replacement Glastonbury'

There will be no Glastonbury festival this year. Not to worry though! The BBC have you covered. The broadcaster is putting together a “replacement Glastonbury” this year – The Biggest Weekend.
Acts who have so far been confirmed include Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol. Others have already been announced and many more could be added to the line-ups.
Line-ups? That’s right! The Biggest Weekend will be a multi-location event. There will be live music at four different sites during the May Bank Holiday (25-28 May): one in England, and three more in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
“We will be celebrating the diversity of music from four different corners of the country, bringing the best UK music to the world and the best global music to the UK”, said director of BBC Radio and Music, Bob Shennan.
The 175,000 tickets for the four events will go on sale on 12 Feb at £22,50 per ticket. A portion of the tickets will be put aside for festival-goers from the local area.
