Today is the day! The final big awards ceremony of this year’s awards season. The 90th edition of the Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, is tonight.
Jimmy Kimmel will be taking to the stage to host the most prestigious film awards in the world after his great success last year. The event is bound to be charged with activism once again with attendees showing their solidarity with the Time’s Up movement and championing gender equality.
‘The Shape of Water’ leads the pack of nominees having been recognised in 13 different categories. Other big hits that have received nods in one or more of the 24 categories include ‘Get Out’, ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ and war epic ‘Dunkirk’.
