EU Needs More Clarity to Move On with Brexit Negotiations

The president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker has asked that Theresa May give the EU a clearer picture of what the UK wants to achieve in the Brexit negotiations in relation to their future relationship with the EU.
Juncker warned the British prime minister that if the UK remained on the current path negotiations could go on for many more years.
The UK continues to claim it wants an enduring treaty with the EU on their future relationship but has yet to put forward any concrete solutions. If the UK keeps presenting a broad picture of what they want, the negotiations won’t be able to move forward and will remain far from supplying a permanent deal.
“Prime minister May: give us some more clarity on how the UK sees its future relationship with the European Union”, asked Juncker while addressing MEPs.
“As the clock comes down with one year to go it is now time to translate speeches into treaties, to turn commitments into agreements, broad suggestions and wishes on a future relationship into specific, workable solutions.”
