2nd Test: India’s 257 Runs Victory and Virat Kohli’s Record

India beat West Indies by 257 runs in the second test at Kingston and got on the top at the point table of ICC World Test Championship with 120 points.
With this victory, India’s captain Virat Kohli also named the most successful captain of India in the traditional format of sports with 28 test victories.
Previously, former captain of India MS Dhoni had the record with 27 test victories.
With 28 wins, Virat Kohli ranks 3rd on the list of captains with most victories after 48 Tests behind Steve Waugh (36) and Ricky Ponting (33).
This victory also rewards India to gain their first clean-sweep in a Test series in the Caribbean as well as it is Kohli’s eighth success as India’s Test captain outside Asia.
This Caribbean tour is one of the most satisfying tours for the captain as his team gave no chance to the host to win a single match under the all 3 formats of cricket.
Chasing the near impossible target of 468 runs in the second innings, west Indies got all out scoring only 210 runs inside the fourth day.

“He’s someone who is sure of his game and it shows. The dressing room feels calm when he’s batting. That’s a quality he possesses naturally,” said Kohli.

Bumrah took 13 wickets in the series at an average of 9.2, including a hat-trick on Saturday, while Sharma had 11 wickets, Shami nine and Jadega six.
“If we didn’t have the bowlers we have, these results wouldn’t have been possible,” Kohli said.
“Our bowlers are amazing. Captaincy is just a C in front of your name. It’s the collective effort that matters,” he added.
