Billie Eilish Releases Short Film: ‘Not My Responsibility’

The star Billie Eilish has a new powerful short film on her YouTube channel where she has made some strong statement about body shaming and double standards, Puza Snigdha reports.

The 18-years-old singer aired the film, which was originally meant to be a part of her ‘Where Do We Go?’ world tour before it was put on hold due to coronavirus, through social media.

The film moves forward as the ‘Bad Guy’ singer is seen removing her baggy hoodie, followed by her vest, until she is standing in her bra.

Here are some of the quotes from the clip:

  • “Do you know me? Really know me? You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body,”
  • “The body I was born with – is it not what you wanted?” Eilish asks.
  • “You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body. Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it, some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me — but I feel you watching.”
  • “If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I’m a slut.
