Four Black Universities Getting $100,000 Scholarships from Beyonce

Beyonce has revealed on Monday morning that she is donating $100,000 scholarships to four historically black universities in America through her BeyGOOD initiative during her groundbreaking Coachella performance.
The singer is going to give away $25,000 each to Xavier University of Louisiana, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University as part of a new scholarship program inspired by the singer’s historic Coachella performance this past weekend.
After making history as the first black woman to headline Coachella with her varsity-themed backing dancers and marching bands, she has expanded the scholarship program and announced the donation.
The announcement for the Homecoming Scholars Award Program ties the gifts to the Coachella performance, saying the show “put the spotlight on art and culture, mixing the ancient and the modern,” and was the “impetus to mark her second scholarship program.”
“We salute the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities” said BeyGood boss Ivy McGregor adding “we honour all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students”.
