Liberation DocFest’22 launches in Dhaka War Museum 

The five-day-long festival has started with its inaugural ceremony on 11th March at the Liberation War Museum. The tenth edition of the festival will be screening selected international and national documentaries at the auditorium of the Liberation War Museum.

The festival will feature around 40 documentaries, primarily selected from almost 2200 documentaries from all over the world. The main focus of Liberation DocFest is to highlight the situation of human rights all around the world.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP, of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, attended as the chief guest. Popularly known as ‘Baker Bhai’, Asaduzzaman Nur MP was also present at the ceremony. Liberation Docfest’s director Tariq Ahmed Bulbul presented his keynotes on the event.

On opening day, the crowd enjoyed the documentary “The Snow Calls” by Iranian director Marjan Khosravi. Marjan Khosravi’s focus is generally on women and their social problems are the main concept for her films. The 49-minute-long film reflected the misery of a woman who lives in a society where having male children is considered superior.

More documentaries will be screened at the Liberation War Museum until 15th March. If you are planning to have a nice day with some great documentaries to give you new insights, this is surely for you!
