Looking for Your Next Challenge? Try Veganism

If you are looking for a new challenge we have one for you which won’t only give you the chance to try something new but also to make a difference to animal welfare and the environment.
This June you could take part in Animal Aid’s Summer Vegan Pledge and try to go completely animal-product-free for a whole 30 days. With this challenge, Animal Aid are looking to encourage people to try veganism for a month.
It is free to sign up to the Pledge and participants will receive plenty of support and advice to help them complete the challenge. When you sign up you will receive a welcome pack that will include recipes and nutrition and shopping tips, regular updates and access to exclusive social media platforms where you will be able to share your experience and advice to others taking part in the challenge.
“The Summer Vegan Pledge is the perfect opportunity for those who care about animals, the environment and their health to try a plant-based diet for a month,” says Tod Bradbury, Animal Aid’s Outreach Campaign Manager.
“It has never been easier to go vegan, with new vegan options coming to supermarket shelves, coffee shops, independent shops, health food shops and restaurants seemingly on a daily basis,” he adds. “By taking the Summer Vegan Pledge you will be helping animals and the planet, and also making positive changes for your health, so why not give it a go?”
Animal Aid is incredibly concerned with the way animals are treated on farms and in slaughterhouses and with the level of greenhouse gas emissions that the meat industry produces.
The organisation is also looking to promote the health benefits of going vegan. Research has revealed that people who practice veganism are less likely to suffer conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
You can find more information on the challenge at govegan.org.uk.
