The United States has seen a vast amount of wildfires in the last year, partly due to global warming, however, President Trump doesn’t agree with the science behind the environmental crisis.
The West Coast is currently on fire with 36 deaths since the flames broke out in late August.
Wildfires have affected many places in the US with the hub of the flames being California. The West Coast has taken a real hit due to its hot climate in the past few years. The worst being in 2018 when 85 people died.
Human or natural calamities can cause Wildfires. For example, someone may drop a cigarette butt or not properly put out a barbeque. However, some fires can be linked to global warming due to warming temperatures and dry land.
Many concerns have been raised as to what can be done to prevent such tragedies happening – some people are looking to Trump to help with the global environmental crisis.
Mr. Trump has been very controversial around the area of the environment. He’s claimed previously that climate change does not exist and it is more management styles of the fires that are responsible.
While being questioned about the current wildfires occurring on the West Coast, the President claimed that “I don’t think science knows” about global warming.
