Ever been axe throwing? I’m guessing not!
I hadn’t even heard of it, yet I was certainly curious enough to give it a try.
The guys at Whistle Punks welcomed WhatsOn into their lair with open arms, and we tentatively stepped in, not quite sure what was going to happen next.
The answer? A truly awesome axe-throwing experience! Dwayne, our trainer, was warm and friendly in his introduction and allowed us all to practice different techniques and get comfortable with the methods before kick-starting our very own axe-throwing tournament.
It was funny, exciting, competitive and – if I might add – not as easy as it looks! Dwayne was very helpful in that he talked us through the different moves and gave any tips to those who may have found it slightly more difficult than the rest.
There was also, as you can imagine, plenty of banter and laughs along the way – naturally between our group but also with our supervisor. Dwayne made us all feel at ease and with his energy and humour made the trip even more enjoyable.
Whistle Punks definitely comes recommended. It was delightfully different and kept us entertained for hours. Check it out now!
Here’s what the rest of the WhatsOn team had to say…
Sheridan Rudge: “Whilst Punks makes you feel like a knife-weilding bad-ass!”
Marcos Melo: “Our team was really excited and Dwayne was a great motivator”
Lindon Smith: “A really unique and thrilling expedition.”
Craig Farrell: “Mental warfare – it definitely got me hyped up!”
Jack Addis: “I had never done this before! It was really different and fun – I sport I could actually do!”
Natalia Kukulka: “An out of the ordinary activity with friendly staff and good health & safety, which is important.”
